Project Manager – Digital Infrastructure
ilina.serafimova@manchester.ac.ukIlina is the Project Manager for the Digital Infrastructure programme, led by the Centre for Health Informatics at The University of Manchester for the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). The programme is part of the BRC Core Team and provides support to all clusters, clinical and research themes.
As the programme’s project manager, Ilina’s key responsibilities are to manage the digital infrastructure provision that supports and enables research across the Manchester BRC. She is also coordinating Manchester BRC’s partner NHS trusts to conduct health research using shared data, as part of the national data sharing programme, the NIHR Health Informatics Collaborative. The digital infrastructure team are supporting the delivery of the Secure Data Environment (SDE) for Research and Development. SDEs are intended to enable NHS data to be safely and securely accessed by researchers for population health research.
Ilina has a BSc in Sociology from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (Bulgaria) and MA degree in European Studies from Aarhus University (Denmark). She is also a PRINCE2 Agile certified professional.
Before joining Manchester BRC, Ilina worked on different communications projects across Europe for over 10 years. She moved to the UK in 2020 to take the position as Centre Communications Manager at the Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis at The University of Manchester.
