Research Project Manager - Advanced Radiotherapy
Ally is Research Project Manager for the Advanced Radiotherapy Theme within the Cancer Cluster at the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre. This Theme includes 5 research programmes: Precision radiotherapy using ‘big data’ infrastructure, Immune response to radiotherapy, Proton therapy, Hypoxia biomarkers for targeted treatments with radiotherapy and MR Linac and functional imaging adaptation.
With a degree in Business, Ally’s experience is varied across the public and private sector and spans more than 20 years with a focus in project-based roles throughout her career. She has held roles within various NHS Trusts, including as a Project Officer within the PRECISE team supporting proton therapy research as well as developing and managing projects in learning and development, communications and patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE). Ally was a Financial Counsellor for 5 years during which time she undertook projects on a national scale supporting business improvement.
As Theme Manager, Ally works with the clinical leads, academics, and early career researchers to deliver programmes of research focused on targeted and personalised cancer treatments to improve therapeutic outcomes.
